I started this group because I have fell far below a 1st class PFT I used to have and would like the support of fellow Marines, to get back in shape.
Group Description
We are a group of prior service or active duty Marines who would like to maintain or get to a 1st Class PFT score and stay combat ready. We work hard, we play hard, and we train hard.
Whether we are already have 1st Class PFT or would like a 1st class PFT or have other goals, the camaraderie of our fellow Marines will help support us and motivate us to succeeding.
Group Commitment
"Every member of this group committed to..."
Everyone that joins my BodyGroup must be committed to helping all the members reach their goals, staying motivated, and holding each other accountable. By doing this we will live longer and healthier lives for our family, friends, and children."

May 14, 2009 12:23am SSgt, if the best tips I could give you are to do immense amounts of pullups. Also, vary the type of grip that you're using. I usually rotate through two grips ever week when I do them. Extreme wide, wide, mid grip, narrow, underhand. When you're pulling up, really try to focus on squeezing your shoulders to activate all of your back muscles - also, tighten your core and use as much of your lats as possible in the movement!

Apr 28, 2009 8:54pm I am a USMC SSgt currently on Recruiting duty in Detroit MI. and I'll be damed if I turn into the typical Doughnut eating recruiter. I have always struggled to make weight and I get motivated for a while and than fall off the horse. I am hoping to stay active until I finish my tour and when I go back to the fleet I can show up all of my peers, under my max and (crossing fingers) under my body fat. When it comes to PFT my pull ups are my weak point and always have been any tips....

Apr 16, 2009 11:36am Hello everyone! Chest day today... and for the first time in about 2 weeks I actually FEEL like going to the gym, not just going because I know I need to even though I really don't want to because I'm so tired. The military does that to you... no rest for the warriors.

Mar 29, 2009 11:28am so you guys have a clear knowledge of me I am 25. I was a personal trainer for about 3 1/2 years and have been lifting for about 13 years. I love to study the muscles of the human body, and everything I do depends on how it could effect my body. Oh yeah and I have been a marine for the last 4 1/2 years. I am always up for learning new things on weight lifting so feel free to chime in, at anytime. Just don't pick a fight.
