I hope everyone's workouts are going well. I am using my 35 lb bell for conditioning purposes. Doing lots of reps of swings, snatches, cleans, TGUs and squats.

Thanks :). Working at VWC with 16kg 7 reps now - tough work! I'll do 44 sets later, I'm tired thinking about it!

Here's a cool workout: Viking push presses alternated with snatches, 15 seconds work 15 seconds rest. a viking push press is catching the bell impact from lowering a double bell lockout with a slight knee bend, then straightening directly into another push press. Go for 10 minutes or so to add some cardio with dual kb's to a workout or as a light workout on it's own.

Hi everyone! I've been doing the rite of passage workout (presses, pullups, swings, snatches) from enter the kettlebell, and it rocks! I also signed up for the dragon door RKC training next may - I'm seriously pumped about it!

A week of steady rains rained out my park workouts, so I am back in the gym. Alternating free weight workouts with kettlebell workouts for three days a week and cardio on three alternate days. Kettlebell workouts are mostly the traditional stuff: swings, snatches, cleans, and TGUs. Sorry I haven't been around much lately but I am working long hours during the downturn (the best problem to have).

I am taking advantage of the warm weather to work out in the park. Using TRX straps, 16kg kettlebell, and sprints around a short track. Feels great to be out of the gym but still working out! I hope everyone's training is going well.

I started with a 16 kg KB, which was heavy at first, but adapted to it quickly. I feel I should have started with a 20 kg.

Hi Reaper! Most authorities recommend a starting weight for a man of average strength around 16kg or 35 pounds. I started with a 20lb bell I bought at Target which allowed me to safely learn the movements before trading up to a heavier bell. If you know someone with a kettlebell, you could try it out before you decide. if you don't know anyone, you can do some kettlebell movements like swings with a dumbbell to get a feel for how much weight you might need.
