Sep 22, 2009 3:17pm Right now I am riding a Cannondale R600 CAAD5. I think I have had the bike for 3 years and maybe have ridden the bike 3 times and now that I'm planning on taking it to the next level, I'm considering buying something different... we'll see.

Sep 17, 2009 2:40pm I was just curious what kind of bikes everybody is on.
I've never really taken the bike that seriously, and really want to shave a bunch of time off the next time I compete. I usually have a good lead after the swim, and I want to actually extend it next time around instead of just trying to hold my ground. Figure a decent road bike is probably gonna help a little over my mountian bike.

Aug 12, 2009 5:44am Hi, I am aiming for my first 1/2 IM in Sept this year. Before that though I am using the Sydney Bridge 1/2 marathon and Firster Long Course as training prep before deciding whether to go for Sept 1/2IM or wait an extra 6 weeks and go for the Canberra 1/2 IM. Training is making for some massive weeks of work, train, eat, sleep and not much more.

Jul 20, 2009 3:08pm Well, i didnt win, but i did hit my goal of knocking off 12 minutes from last years time. I lost by 1 minute and it took me over 2 minutes at T1. I am not happy about that. Oh well, live and learn. I have another coming up in August here in the Vail Valley. I hope everybodys training is going well. I would like to hear about any races coming up for you all.....BTW, i am so sore!! Need to do more brick training i guess.

Jul 16, 2009 2:16pm No set race I am planning for right now. However I have been invited to join in a tri training session on Saturday this weekend. Bike 25mi, Run 10k, Swim 1mi.
Longest I have done so far was Run 4mi, Bike 14 mi and swim .6 mi. Seriously wondering if I should go for this training session?

Jun 23, 2009 2:47pm Westbin- You say you have to work on swimming, dont we all. That for me is the toughest part. Best advice i can give you is to make that the priority in your training. Swim 3-4 days per week of at least the distance you will be competing at. Once every couple weeks, do a timed swim to work on your pace and improve. A great website is swimplan.com or .org. Something like that. Free workouts. Good luck!
